Take a Look at these Tuffets!

Tuffets are a blank canvas – with lots of possibilities.  These are just a few!

This tuffet was stitched using decorative stitches on a Bernina 830 with added hand stitches in decorative threads. Some of the stitches feature couched cords as well. The fabric is a hand-dyed batik. The wedges are wholecloth wedges on top of the foundation. The great thing about the foundation is that it acts as a stabilizer for the heavy decorative stitching.
Using Cherrywood Hand Dyed Fabrics, Sharyn Cole and Lori College created this king of the tuffets. Lori digitized the design that appears on the button and Sharyn created the cover. It was truly a labor of love and collaboration.

It was made with the double gauze product from Shannon Fabrics called Embraceable.  We used a decorative button and created an elegant new look.

thank you betsy! fabulous fun looking at all these beautiful tuffet examples. i confess to have not been the least bit interested in the current tuffet fad –i don’t do fads lollol, but i think there may be one or more mini tuffets in my future. i do love & enjoy making pincushions once in a while and the minis would be perfect gifts!

I love the new mini tuffets, where can we get the patterns or a kit? I have checked at tuffetsource.com but couldn’t find either.
I’ve loved the larger tuffet since they first came out and am just trying to get through some projects before starting any thing new, but a mini wouldn’t count would it???
