Ryukyu Robin Ornament Free Pattern

Ryukyu Robin Ornament by Emily Cross
A little Japanese bird ornament sits in your tree embellished with charming sashiko inspired embroidery. This quick wool applique project is the perfect decoration for your Christmas tree or make it for a loved one.
Scraps of wool, black flannel and embroidery floss
Cut out the pattern pieces from wool. Baste in place using the bird pattern at the top as a placement guide. Lightly tack the bird to black flannel on the back.
Using your favorite embroidery stitches, embroider the pieces in place hiding tails and knots between the wool and black flannel backing. Buttonhole stitch around the edges.
