Flying in just in time for Christmas is the third of our Japanese bird ornaments featuring Sashiko inspired embroidery. The Oriental White-Eye swoops in to make the season bright.

Scraps of wool, black flannel and embroidery floss
Cut out the pattern pieces from wool. Baste in place using the bird pattern at the top as a placement guide. Lightly tack the bird to black flannel on the back. 
Using your favorite embroidery stitches, embroider the pieces in place hiding thread tails and knots between the wool and black flannel backing. Embroider around the edges.

I’m an administraor of a Facebook group that currently has just over 7,000 members. I would love to share this on our group. But since this is an embroidery group, I would like to give them the digitized design as well. They would have the option of doing the original bird, by hand or using their embroidery machine to do as a free standing ornament… How would I go about discussing this with Betty Langford please?
