Complicated and confusing romance continues for Josephine’s Guest House proprietor Kate Meyr in Everlasting Quilts, the fourth novel in the East Perry County series. John Baker, Kate’s lakehouse neighbor, a writer, and wannabe lover intrigues Kate with his research on quilts for a magazine article. In the process, she discovers unusual destinations for quilts, even in her own family. These stories are precious and everlasting. But not all is precious in Borna as Kate faces a fight for her life in her beloved home. Thanks to the spirit of Josephine and a handsome new acquaintance, Kate is able to persevere. It’s once again another secret that Kate has to keep from her community as she continues to protect her guest house’s reputation.
For generations, ladies have gathered at churches to quilt, as they bring income to their treasury. In Church Ladies Quilts, the fifth and final novel in the East Perry County series, Kate Meyr’s love for quilts convinces her to join the quilters at Concordia Lutheran church in Borna. The ritual of their practices amuses Kate as she listens to the diverse personalities. It doesn’t take long after Kate joins them that a mystery surfaces of a missing quilt. The Pastor, who is dearly admired by the ladies, tries to keep the story quiet for the church’s reputation. In the meantime, Kate’s friendship with Clark is turned upside down and a new relationship appears with a red Jeep. Kate’s research on Josephine is enhanced by discovering who has been putting yellow roses on her grave.

This popular National Quilt Museum annual contest has taken flight once again! Annually, the museum sponsors a contest based on a traditional quilt pattern. The challenge to quiltmakers stems from the contest name—New Quilts From An Old Favorite. This year’s theme is the Flying Geese block. An exhibit of contest winners and finalists is held each year at the museum. This book is a collection of the most innovative quilts entered in the contest. Inside you will meet the quilters, discover their inspiration, and follow their techniques. You will see the color, the creativity, and the craft of a widely diverse group. Our hope is that the quilts will provide motivation for all quilters to consider their own interpretation of a traditional block to create a new quilt from an old favorite.
