Cutting Instructions

From the dark purple, cut:
(4) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares

From the purple fabric, cut:
(4) 1 ½” x 2 ½” rectangles

From the light purple fabric, cut:
(2) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares

From the yellow fabric, cut:
(4) 1 ½” x 2 ½” rectangles

From the light yellow fabric, cut:
(2) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares

From the background fabric, cut:
(4) 2 ½” x 2 ½” squares

Assembly

Corner Flip Unit

Mark the wrong side of the dark purple 1 1/2” squares diagonally once. Lay a marked square on the corner of a background 2 1/2” square and sew on the marked line. Trim a quarter inch from the marked line and press.

Unit measures 2 1/2″ square. Make 4.

Four Patch

Sew a light purple 1 ½” square to a light yellow 1 ½” square. Press seams toward the light purple. Make 2.

Sew the two units together with colors alternating to make the Four Patch unit.

Unit measures 2 ½” x 2 ½”. 

Block Assembly

Sew a purple 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle to the side of a yellow 1 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ rectangle. Make 4.

Use the block diagram above to layout the block into three rows. Sew the units into rows.
Sew the rows together to complete the block.

Block measures 6 ½” x 6 ½” unfinished.
