6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ unfinished
Cutting Instructions:
Dark Purple:
(6) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares
Light Purple:
(6) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares
Dark Yellow:
(2) 3” x 3” squares
Background:
(2) 3” x 3” squares
(8) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares
Assembly
Half Square Triangles
Mark the wrong side of the background 3” squares in half diagonally once. Lay a marked background square over a dark yellow 3” square, right sides together. Sew a quarter inch from each side of the marked line. Cut apart on the marked line.
Trim unit to 2 1/2” square. Make 4.
Four Patches
Sew a background 1 ½” square to a light purple 1 ½” square. Press seams toward the light purple. Make 4.
Sew the two units together with colors alternating to make the Four Patch unit.
Unit measures 2 ½” x 2 ½”. Make 2.
Sew a background 1 ½” square to a dark purple 1 ½” square. Press seams toward the dark purple. Make 4.
Sew the two units together with colors alternating to make the Four Patch unit.
Unit measures 2 ½” x 2 ½”. Make 2.
Sew a light purple 1 ½” square to a dark purple 1 ½” square. Press seams toward the dark purple. Make 2.
Sew the two units together with colors alternating to make the Four Patch unit.
Unit measures 2 ½” x 2 ½”. Make 1.
Block Assembly
Use the block diagram above to layout the block into rows. Sew the units into rows.
Sew the rows together to complete the block.
Block measures 6 ½” x 6 ½” unfinished.
