Visit the Quilting World of 2002

American Quilter's Society 35th Anniversary

This year we invite you to join us as we celebrate 35 years of quilting, 35 years of quilters, and 35 years of AQS inspiring, educating, and nurturing quilters who love quilting. Here’s to the next 35!

In this series, we start in 1985 and work our way to 2019 taking a look at the quilting world through our unique perspective. Enjoy the beautiful quilts and marvel at the amazing heritage quilting is because of you, the quilter.

What a show that was for me – first time at Paducah, first quilt accepted in the show, reunion with my college roomy after 30 years. Meeting Suzanne Marshall and Diane Gaudinsky. Yvonne Porcella invited us to join her for lunch because the three of us were all alumna of the University of San Francisco. I will never forget the 8 hr drive back home to Madison with my creative spark plugs just absolutely on fire! From that drive “Truckbugs, Backhoe Blossoms and Wheelbarrow Butterflies” was born. Yup, that was a good show!
