In the video, Laura explains her use of nailheads and crystals for embellishments and the creative adjustments that were made to the original pattern. She discusses the importance of visual balance: Step back and look at your quilt, and don’t be afraid to make changes. Too much of anything? Adjust! Need color? Paint! She painted several areas of the quilt.
For more visual interest, the borders are different styles. Laura gives a special tip about “traveling in the ditches.” This quilt includes many different areas of design! A wide variety of threads by Superior were used, and it was quilted on a Gammill longarm.
