Here’s a bonus video for this week! We love to share the interviews of our contest quilters as soon as they become available. Congratulations to Janet Atkins, who won the Best Hand Quilted award at AQS QuiltWeek–Lancaster, Pennsylvania 2015.
Most of the fabrics used in her quilt, Murderskill Crossing, were from her stash. “It was easy,” Janet said about finding all the colors for the quilt, because she has a large collection of fat quarters. The original design began with a 40″ square wholecloth quilt that she decided to re-make in color. She challenged herself with the curvy border, and used wool batting for definition and smaller stitches.
Enjoy Janet’s interview with AQS Director of Education, Melissa Winters.
