Thanks to the careful matching I did when I joined the sections (and also pressing the seams open – you can really see what you’re doing) I hit that center point dead on the first time. Woo hoo!
I’ll block the quilt on my design wall before I trim it. You might wonder why I’m not steaming the top at this point. First of all, I really don’t have to. Pinning it and then spritzing with water works just fine. Also, I had a steaming disaster once. Did you know that even if you’ve prewashed a fabric, a color can still run if you steam it?
