Arizona State Block

American Made Brand Fabrics:

Light Pink

Olive

Get the fabrics for this week’s blocks in one convenient fat quarter bundle! Bundle includes fabrics for all the state blocks in Week Ten.

Cutting Instructions: 

From the light pink fabric, cut:

(12) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares

(6) 3″ x 3″ squares

(8) 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles

From the olive fabric, cut:

(6) 3″ x 3″ squares

(8) 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ squares

Instructions:

Half Square Triangle Units

Mark the back of the light pink 3″ squares from corner to corner. Layer right sides together with the olive 3″ squares. Sew a 1/4″ on each side of the drawn line. Cut apart on the drawn line to make the Half Square Triangle units. Make 12.

Flying Geese Units

Mark the back of the 2 1/2″ green squares from corner to corner. Lay a green square right sides together in the corner of a 2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ light pink rectangle. Sew on the marked line. Trim the outside corner, press corner fabric in place. Repeat for the other corner. Make 4.

Block Assembly:

Using the diagram below as a guide, to assemble the block.

Block measures 12 1/2″ unfinished.
