Southern Fried Apples

- 6 medium cooking apples, sliced; do not peel
- ⅓ - ½ c. butter
- ⅔ c. sugar
- 1 T. ground cinnamon
- Dash of salt
- Core but do not peel apples; slice apples. Heat butter in heavy skillet. Add apples.
- Mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt, and cover apples with half this mixture. Add remaining sugar mixture and cook uncovered over low heat until apples are almost transparent.
- Serve warm.
