I clicked on the download pattern here and all that came up was a pdf of this screen. I think someone forgot to attach the actual pattern to the pdf. Very disappointed!

Wow! I just tried it again and the pattern came up beautifully this time. Thanks to the Powers that be who fixed it!

I see a solid green line and dotted circle lines. Are those embroidery stitches?
Hi Margaret, Yes, those are the embroidery lines. Enjoy! Thanks, Betsey

Annoying. Will print only the picture, no pattern. When I click on Preview, I get nothing but a black page numbered 1 of 1. Tried four times. Waste of printer ink.
Good Morning Helen, You may need to update your Adobe Acrobat Reader or try a different browser to access the file. I emailed you the pattern. Hope this helps! Thanks, Betsey

OK, here is a funny one. I was checking my emails and showing my sister who was visiting from Florida to see the Eclipse and this pattern showed up. We got so excited that we took off to a Quilting Store community. When we got there we had forgot to see what size it was, so of course, as quilters you always make sure you have plenty of fabric, like yards. Ha Ha When we arrived back home with our yards of fabric to make this beautiful quilt we noticed what size it was. It took a while to get… Read more »
That is so funny Teresa and you are welcome. I bet many of us have done the same thing. We would love to see a picture of your finished “Luna.” ~ Sylvia Thomas, AQS Social Media Manager

Thank you for this free Lunar pattern. No problem downloading it! Pauline

One of the biggest events here in Oregon was the solar eclipse of 2017. I took advantage of your gracious pattern, changing the moon to sunny batik. It’s awesome and I wish I could send you a picture of the final product!
Hi Carol, We’d love to see a picture! You can email it to betsey.langford@americanquilter.com or share it on our show and tell Facebook group, Project Parade. So glad you enjoyed the pattern! Thanks for letting us know. Thanks, Betsey

Hello Betsy: I am thinking of getting this kit for a gift, from AQS Store, because I like the fabric selections. I downloaded the free pattern as well. Is the embroidery in the blue thread done by hand or machine? I couldn’t tell how you finished the edges of the appliques. Did you do any stitching around the edges of the moons — button hole? zig-zag? by hand? If so, what threads did you use? Do you have a preferred needle for hand embroidery, if done by hand? use an embroidery hoop? I’m pretty much a machine-person, but may have… Read more »
Hi Meg, You can do the embroidery by hand or machine. I do hand. The moons are fused with a straight stitch to secure the edges (but again, use your favorite method). I usually use matching or monofilament (clear) thread for machine applique. I don’t have a preferred needle brand for embroidery needles, but I do use the smallest I can, and still comfortably get the thread through the eye. I use a straight stitch and a hoop. Hope this helps. Have fun! Thanks, Betsey

Thank you!… in case I forgot my manners. I will dig out an embroidery hoop I have – somewhere. I can think of several people who would enjoy this as a gift for their home. ‘Best — Meg
Is this just a picture of the same thing that is in the email? That’s all that printed for me is why I ask. If it is, it’s not a pattern.

hi
what is the meaning of the circular stitching around the full and half moons?
Hi Morwenna, The circles are a design feature, purely aesthetics. Thanks, Betsey
thank you
I thought that they might of represented the change in luminosity of the different phases of the moon
