Every piece is a prize-winner. They are so artistic and evocative of some longing in us– I am glad that my vote did secure a First Place. I really must get down to quilting. In an old chest in the family-owned farmhouse in a village in Sawantwadi, India, is the last ever quilt made by my Grandmother.The quilt was made by the end of the year by piecing/piling on every cotton sari she would have worn during the course of the year. The older quilt would be handed to neighbors who might require it or given to one of us… Read more »

‘Grateful for creativity, appreciation of beauty, diversity, pattern and color—great antidote to the political turmoil around us. And I can bet there were many more gorgeous expressions of this at the show. May we all be open to the tug to create, fashion our own affirmations of life and generative power, celebrate the wonder that we are alive. May our appreciation for others’ efforts spur our own.
