Oriental White-Eye Bird Ornament by Emily Cross
Flying in just in time for Christmas is the third of our Japanese bird ornaments featuring Sashiko inspired embroidery. The Oriental White-Eye swoops in to make the season bright.
Scraps of wool, black flannel and embroidery floss
Cut out the pattern pieces from wool. Baste in place using the bird pattern at the top as a placement guide. Lightly tack the bird to black flannel on the back.
Using your favorite embroidery stitches, embroider the pieces in place hiding thread tails and knots between the wool and black flannel backing. Embroider around the edges.
