Last summer (in “It’s my nature” in the August 2012 issue, to be exact) you saw the face of Iliamna, an Arctic wolf captured in fabric by Barbara Beasley. We recently learned that another of Barbara’s animal faces, this time a jaguar, won a second-place prize in the wall quilt category at the Denver National Quilt Festival. You can see the quilt, LET’S DO LUNCH , at the bottom of this post. We predict that you’ll be facing more of Barbara’s great animal quilts at shows across the country. (Did I happen to mention that “faces” is the theme of the current issue of TQL, June 2013?)

If you keep up with quilting friends on Facebook (especially Ricky Tims), you probably know that our dear friend and partner Libby Lehman is in the hospital. Queen of organization that she is, she was way ahead in writing her TQL columns, which we will continue to publish while she is on the mend. You can keep up with Libby’s progress and leave your get-well messages at >…Jan Magee, The Quilt Life
