Pick between the light or bright colorway of this easy baby quilt. Get the effect of a pinwheel without having to match pinwheel seams. Like a scrappy look? Use charms for the colorful triangles.

Light Colorway Fabric Requirements*:
Light Cream — 2 1/8 yards
Mint Green — 1/3 yard
Light Sky Blue — 1/3 yard
Binding — 3/8 yard
Backing — 1 3/4 yards
*Yardage assumes 42″ usable width

Bright Colorway Fabric Requirements*:
White — 2 1/8 yards
Lime Green — 1/3 yard
Electric Blue — 1/3 yard
Binding — 3/8 yard
Backing — 1 3/4 yards
*Yardage assumes 42″ usable width

Cutting Instructions

From the background fabric, cut:
(100) 3 1/8″ x 6 1/8″ rectangles
(20) 1 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ rectangles
(6) 1 1/2″ x 39 1/2″ strips
(2) 1 1/2″ x 41 1/2″ strips

From the green fabric, cut:
(13) 5″ x 5″ squares, cut in half diagonally twice

From the blue fabric, cut:
(13) 5″ x 5″ squares, cut in half diagonally twice

From the binding fabric, cut:
(5) 2 1/2″ x Width of Fabric strips

Block Assembly

Sew a green triangle to the background 3 1/8″ x 6 1/8″ rectangle as shown below by aligning a short side of the triangle to the corner of the rectangle to make a block quarter unit. Make 50.

Repeat with the blue triangles to make the remaining block quarter units. Make 50.

Sew a blue and a green block quarter unit together with the untrimmed edges facing out. Sew 25 pairs. Sew the pairs into the block as shown below. Trim to 7 1/2″ square like sizing a quarter square triangle.

Make 25 blocks.

Quilt Assembly

Use the blocks and the background 1 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ rectangles to make five rows of five blocks each as shown below. Sew the rows together with four of the background 1 1/2″ x 39 1/2″ strips.

Add the side borders using the remaining 1 1/2″ x 39 1/2″ strips, and then add the top and bottom border using the background 1 1/2″ x 41 1/2″ strips.

Once the top is completed, layer with batting and backing. Quilt as desired and bind using preferred method.
