Sizing Frame
Each block features a frame that you can use for sizing. This is great for smoothing out size discrepancies that can happen in sewing sampler blocks. We’ve made a video demonstrating how to size blocks using a frame.

Will there be a fabric kit available for this quilt?
Hi Mel, Yes, there will be a kit for the colored fabrics. Thanks, Betsey
I like the Journey to Paducah Quilt. Matter of fact I enjoy all of AQS quilt patterns.
The quilt is beautiful now all I have to do is keep up
How do I order the fabric kit for this quilt?
Hi Linda, You can get the kit for the colored fabrics at shopAQS.com. The black can be ordered separately. Thanks, Betsey
Im excited.
If you do order the colored fabric, are all the colors labeled so you know what they are?
Hi Valerie, I don’t think the quilt kits are labeled beyond the packing slip, but the colors in this post are linked to the website so you can see which is which. We’ve also color coded the assembly to help. Thanks, Betsey
can i get a color coded fabric list
Hi Debbie, Color codes have been added to the fabrics in the main fabric requirements found here. These are used in the frames for clarification. Thanks, Betsey
how do i get to the members access area for the quilting designs as i am a member just not sure where to navigate to on the web site?
Hi Nicole, Visit the Journey to Paducah 20 Designs A Day on the AQS member site. Thanks, Betsey
Betsey – Do you have any tips on working with these small half square triangles. I am experienced, but the ironing has me stumped. The back is so bulky.
Hi Linda, If bulky seams are giving you fits, you might try trimming one of the seam allowances back a bit. I usually don’t need to do both (unless I’m working with the little 1/2″ half squares and such). I also am diligent about trimming dog ears. When pressing, I like to cool my unit under a weight (3/8″ tempered glass scrap is my favorite!) to keep things tidy during construction. Hope this helps. Thanks, Betsey
I love this quilt but don’t have time to do it right now. Will the directions stay on this site or do I need to print them all out?
Hi Peg, They will stay on the site. Enjoy! Thanks, Betsey
Is there a way to download and save each block with the picture with out being online? I have saved each block but the picture is not showing up. I will be visiting family and do not want to use up their internet time.
I am enjoying “the Quilt Chat” each week. Thank you for all the blocks that are available. I am planning to start “journey to Paducah “ soon. I purchased the kit. I just love the solid colors. Hope to purchase the black fabric tomorrow. I just hope the pattern will be available for at least 1 year. ??.
Hi Karen, Thank you for your kind words. I’m so excited you are enjoying QuiltChat and looking forward to making Journey to Paducah quilt! No worries, the pattern will be available here for you to access at your convenience. Enjoy! Thanks, Betsey
