The events of AQS QuiltWeek 2015, held at a record seven locations this year, are now history. All of the beautiful quilts on display throughout the year will remain in our mind’s eye, however, because stunning quilt designs are not easily forgotten. We were pleased to welcome the new Albuquerque and Syracuse locations to our lineup in 2015.
AQS QuiltWeek is going back to Phoenix in January, and we look forward to an additional new location, Daytona Beach, Florida, in February 2016! It’s time to plan a sunny vacation, don’t you think? You’ll love the special rates we have arranged for you!
Here’s a unique event for your To Do list: the Blacklight Tour at The National Quilt Museum. For one night only each year, the museum locks the doors, turns off the regular lighting, and turns on blacklights. It’s an incredible fall tradition that the Museum offers to showcase the intricacy of the stitching and the quilt patterns. In the photo above, Donna Tatum Worden points to a mysterious lady who appears in the left window of the quilt only under black light. The tour is geared toward adults, and you’ll enjoy it even if you’ve visited the Museum before. The tour is held Friday, October 30, 2015, 10:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged and treats are provided. It’s also a great excuse to visit the Paducah riverfront in the fall. Contact email@example.com for more information.
AQS Publishing is headed to the big wholesale quilt market in Houston toward the end of this month. Shop owners, if you’re there, look us up and please stop by to say hello. We love meeting you! We’re giving away a quilt and a bolt of fabric to a lucky winner this year. Drop by to find out more.
Two fabulous photos from MyQuiltPlace are featured this week. Above, The Garden Wall, a round robin quilt made by MQP’s UFO group. What an awesome quilt! Besides the endearing applique, take a look at the delightful stone wall of quilting. Kudos to the group!
Happy October from the AQS quilting bee. Thanks for stopping by.
