FREE PATTERN: Strips and Flowers

Thanks to Janome for another versatile pattern!

janome proj marchThis lap quilt (58″ x 58″) is a great weekend project. Choose a focal fabric for the large center medallion, and then surround it with easy string bean blocks–they are quick to make, but make a great edging pattern.

The quilters added beading to the center fabric panel for added interest, but you may choose to use some thread painting techniques, free motion quilting or just basic straight-line quilting.

Alison Newman and Kaitlin Witte, authors of the book Thread and Bobbin, made this quilt.

Stunning! Draws one into the heart of the quilt. It is a restful quilt as well as a work of art. Thank you for sharing this online. I have much to which I may aspire now, having seen your beautiful quilt.
