In the early 1980s while living in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Judy Laquidara was wasting time during her lunch hour when she stumbled across a little quilt shop. In the days and weeks following, she spent many lunch hours (and most of her earnings!) in that little quilt shop.
From the purchase of a “longarm” machine that was actually a very old, used (very used!) short arm machine, to her present-day APQS Millennium, Judy found longarm quilting to be more fun than she ever imagined. Designing her own quilts led to requests from friends for the patterns and thus a new business of pattern designs was formed. Several of her patterns have been published. Judy’s quilts have won numerous awards and have been included in books by Bonnie Browning and Karen McTavish.
She shares her love of life on her blog,
Patchwork Times, where you’ll find find stories about the garden, the chickens, the family, some recipes, a bit of knitting, and some quilting.
