For each set, lay the marked 7″ square on the unmarked 7″ square, right sides together. Assemble as follows:

  •  24 White and 24 Green 7″ squares yields 48 HSTs.
  •  16 White and 16 Blue 7″ squares yields 32 HSTs.
  •  4 White and 4 Black 7″ squares yields 8 HSTs.

Sew a 1/4″ seam on each side of the diagonal line.

Cut on the diagonal line.

Press the half square triangles and trim evenly to 6½”.

Following the diagram below, sew the sections together and the sections into a quilt!

I don’t understand (2) 96 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ strips, made up of (5) 3 1/2″ strips. The first half makes sense but can’t wrap my brain around the second half. Sorry, please help. Thank you.

Janie

PS: love this quilt.
