72″ x 72″

Fabric Requirements:

Dark Fabric – 1 1/4 yards
Medium Fabric – 3/4 yard
Light Fabric – 2 1/2 yards
Backing – 4 2/3 yards
Binding – 2/3 yard

Cutting Instructions:

For the Dark fabric, cut:
(2) 12 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ squares
(6) 13″ x 13″ squares for half square triangles

For the Medium fabric, cut:
(6) 13″ x 13″ squares for half square triangles

For the Light fabric, cut:
(10) 12 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ squares
(12) 13″ x 13″ squares for half square triangles

Assembly:

Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the backside of each of the light half square triangle (HST) 13″ squares.

For each set, lay the marked 13″ light square on the unmarked 13″ dark or medium square, right sides together. Assemble as follows:

  •  6 Light and 6 Dark 13″ squares yields 12 HSTs.
  •  6 Light and 6 Medium 13″ squares yields 12 HSTs.

Sew a 1/4″ seam on each side of the diagonal line.

Cut on the diagonal line.

Press the half square triangles and trim evenly to 12½”.

Following the diagram below, sew the sections together and the sections into a quilt!
