My Granny gave me two blocks like this for my sons in the ’80’s, she included the pattern which was cut out from a grocery sack. She passed a few years later. It’s very precious to me as you might guess.

Thanks very much for the pattern series. I love old patterns and want to collect them all. This will make a great nostalgic quilt. Thanks again.

Hello! I’m enjoying the vintage patterns. I was wondering how many will be in the series. So far I have four. Thank you.

Donna, We are planning 9 for this series. Glad you are having fun with these. We would love to see your finished blocks.

Why does the tip of the nose not allow for a 1/4″ seam to either join a strip or another block?

Hi Kay, It actually does. I see why you are asking that though. The images for the instructions were cropped from the graphic for the finished block with no seam allowances. It should show a 1/4″ seam allowance along the nose of the plane. Thanks, Betsey

What exactly is the 23/8″ square measurements?

Hello! It should read 2 3/8″ (our bad!) and is for making the Half Square Triangle units. Have fun making! -Emily
