Shelley will teach you how to both use appliqués already available in the software to create designs and make your own appliqués. Learn how to use a photo to make your appliqué, and check out how stencils and lettering can personalize your quilt. Shelley will also cover the Wreathmaker function in EQ8. Afterwards, have fun with a trunk show of the projects presented in the class.
What can we do with all those blocks in Electric Quilt 8 (EQ8)? Serendipity is the name of the game in this class. Learn to use the Serendipity tool and transform ordinary blocks into something extraordinary. Put on your block designer thinking caps as Shelley helps you take a block to a whole new level. Frame, Merge, Tilt, and many more functions will help turn your block into a one-of-a-kind piece of art. You will have fun creating projects and designing your own block for a mini-design contest.
Let’s explore Electric Quilt 8 (EQ8) in a way you might not have thought about. How can you use borders to make an entire quilt? Borders aren’t just for the outside edge of your quilt anymore. Students will take some of the border designs available in EQ8, and use them not only for the edges, but also for the body of the quilt. Come and explore Beyond the Border. Join Shelley for chocolate and see samples of the projects you will be creating in the software.

Shelley will also cover how to create appliqués and even use photos to enhance your quilt. A mini trunk show follows, featuring projects created in the wonderful world of Electric Quilt 8.
In this Electric Quilt 8 (EQ8) class, you will concentrate on photos and fabric. Shelley will go over the procedure of downloading fabric company collections and putting them into EQ8. Do you stash fabric? Learn how to put them into EQ8 as well. There are many things you can do with photos; for instance, EQ8 can use a photo to make an appliqué. Do you have a panel that you would like to see made into a quilt, but want to see the finished quilt before you start cutting out your fabric? EQ8 can help with that. Have you ever considered taking a photo and turning it into fabric? Learn to do that, too! Get ready for Fotos, Fabric, and Fun.
This Electric Quilt 8 (EQ8) class is for the hidden quilt designer in all of us. Shelley will lead you through some of the more complex things that EQ8 can do. Explore the Layout Library; do you like irregular shaped quilts? How about a Bargello? Use Custom Quilt to design your own quilt using different-sized blocks. You can design a quilt using a block as the background, or maybe a one-patch quilt is for you. You will get a chance to show your inner designer by creating your own designs in class, and can put your skills to the test with a fun mini-design contest. Be prepared to unleash your inner EQ8 designer.
