Have you tried the Big Block Challenge?  We’re giving you patterns for jumbo-sized quilt blocks and ideas for how to turn them into a quilt or project. Big blocks are so fun for making fast quilts and showing off large prints.

Each pattern will take two weeks.

  • The first week, the block pattern instructions are given. You whip up a few awesome blocks and share them.
  • Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to create a project using the block, it can be a quilt with lots of the blocks, a pillow with just one, or whatever you can imagine.
  • The second week, we share a free pattern that we came up with for the block and you share your ideas too. Send us a picture and we will post your creation here.

Thank you to Mary Reddington for sending in a picture of her blocks:

“I am teaching my small group of 25 gals machine quilting with the walking foot. When I saw this block challenge it seemed perfect for this project. As my ‘fee’ I asked them to practice their quilting on these 24″ blocks. So far I have pieced six of them. The 24″ size is what my guild wants for quilts we donate to our local hospital NICU. So that is where they will go. Thank you for your inspiration.”
