Beth Schillig enjoys a chat about her quilt, WANDERING ‘ROUND MY WORLD, with AQS Show Director, Bonnie Browning, in this video following Beth’s Best Innovative Quilt award at AQS QuiltWeek®—Phoenix, AZ 2014.
The stiff, circular pieces were created using hand-dyed fabrics that were machine appliquéd and machine quilted. She made the three rectangular units separately, then connected them with the completed circles.
Beth’s advice about entering an AQS contest? “Just dig in and do it!”
We happened to stumble across some great close-ups of this quilt and views of other show-stopping quilts from the Phoenix event, along with first-hand commentary from two quilt-loving attendees, Marina & Daryl Lynn. Deadlines for entering the Charlotte, Grand Rapids, and Chattanooga contests are coming up! Check the deadline chart HERE, where you’ll also find contest rules and a listing of cash awards. Then, like Beth said, “Just dig in and do it!”
