Aspiring Author? E-mail our editors!

It’s not too late to call or e-mail the AQS editors to make an appointment to meet at AQS QuiltWeek® – Phoenix, Arizona 2014! They would love to speak with you about book, booklet, article, and pattern ideas.

Do you dream of being a published author? Let American Quilter magazine make your dream come true. Our Editor-in-Chief, Michele Duffy, will be attending AQS QuiltWeek® – Phoenix, Arizona 2014 and will enjoy meeting with you.

Look for Michele in the Author’s Demonstration area on February 6 and 7 at 2:00 p.m. and on February 8 at 10:00 a.m. Stop by to talk with Michele; and, while you’re there, check out the quilts from the March 2014 issue of American Quilter that will be on display.

Michele is searching for articles that entertain, educate, and enlighten our readers while helping them to succeed with their projects. American Quilter’s mission is to inspire and empower artists of all ages, abilities, and styles to grow, challenge themselves, and to form bonds with others in the textile arts community. American Quilter magazine is published six times a year, and our readership appreciates well-written articles that cover a large variety of quilt-related topics.

The process of article publication begins with an article proposal. You can see the American Quilter article submission guidelines HERE. Michele will be very happy to go over the process with you.

If you would like to discuss an idea with Michele, send her an email to work out a convenient time to meet with her in Phoenix during QuiltWeek. Her email address is micheleduffy@aqsquilt.com. Be sure to contact her by January 31, 2014 so that she can set aside time just for you.

Would you like to discuss a book or pattern idea with our Executive Book Editor, Elaine Brelsford?

Elaine will be attending AQS QuiltWeek® – Phoenix, Arizona 2014 and is looking forward to meeting you there.

The American Quilter’s Society is eager to receive manuscripts on exciting how-to topics related to all skill levels and all types of quilting. Consider offering a book based on the idea of a successful pattern or pattern series that you have created. A booklet might be the answer if you don’t have a bookful! We are also on the lookout for well-written novels with a quilting theme.

The process of book publication with AQS begins with a book proposal. You can see our book proposal guidelines by clicking HERE. Elaine will be very happy to go over the process with you.

Exciting news! AQS is also looking for individual patterns, as well as sets of patterns to be used as Blocks of the Month! If this is down your alley, it’s another good reason to send Elaine an e-mail.

If you would like to “pitch” an idea to Elaine, send her an email to work out a convenient time to meet with her in Phoenix during QuiltWeek. Her email address is Elaine@aqsquilt.com.

QuiltWeek opens at the Phoenix Convention Center on February 5th and runs through February 8th. Click here for QuiltWeek information.

You can’t make it to Phoenix? Don’t dismay – both Michele and Elaine are excited to hear your ideas at any time. Just drop either of them an e-mail and start the conversation – 2014 might be your year!
