See what the AQS staff created for their loved ones for the holidays! In this festive show and tell, employees of AQS share those special handcrafted gifts they made for gifts this holiday season.
We are surrounded by talented people every day and we love the creative atmosphere in the AQS office. The creativity and talent keeps us inspired everyday. Here are a few of the personal projects staff members worked on in 2016. We hope you enjoy the images and will be inspired to go create more in 2017.
Melissa Winters, Director of Education
Melissa shared her most recent project—a top from Linda J. Hahn’s book (top left).
The one block wonder (bottom right) that Melissa said she “made just for fun.”
Liz Hammonds, QuiltWeek® Vendor Coordinator
Liz shows us her beautiful hand lettering.
Sylvia Thomas, Social Media Manager
This fun quilt was made for Sylvia’s great nephew. This was a collaborative effort with her daughter, Faith.
Couldn’t leave out her great niece! She got this adorable bag made from owl fabrics. Yes, Faith was in on this one, too. Turns out this is the first quilting Sylvia has tackled.
Allan Ramsey, Systems Manager & Videographer
Who knew?! Allan has a crafty side he has been hiding from us!
Ann Hammel, Editor of American Quilter Magazine
In a burst of non-quilted creative energy, Ann made two afghans (one knitted, one crocheted) to give to her daughters’ families.
Mindy Jacobs, Administrative Assistant
Mindy was very busy last year. Clockwise:
The Minnie Mouse quilt was made for a young lady turning one year old in Louisiana.
The tractor quilt was made from a panel fabric with minimal quilting.
The bird dog quilt was made in memory of her son’s Daddy, Chance Jeffords, who passed away in January.
Mindy made the SUNSHINE QUILT after watching the iquilt class “Whimsical Letters in Fabric” with Joanne Sharpe.
