Two of the top awards at the International Quilt Festival in Houston this week went to AQS authors.
Sharon Schamber, author of Piece by Piece Machine Appliqué, received the Maywood Studio Master Award for Innovative Artistry for her quilt Crimson Promises. Sharon graciously posed for the photo above this morning at the show. Susan Stewart, who wrote Heirloom Machine Sewing for Quilters, won the Pfaff Master Award for Machine Artistry for her quilt Radiance.
These authors won first, second, or third place in their respective categories: Caryl Bryer Fallert, author of Quilt Savvy: Fallert’s Guide to Images on Fabric; Judy Woodworth, author of Freemotion Quilting; and Renae Haddadin, author of Amazing Ways to Use Circles & Rays, who won two awards in different categories, including a first place in the Wearable Art category for a quilted wedding gown.
We are very proud of the continuing accomplishments of these AQS authors and all the other outstanding quilters who won awards at this show. Congratulations to all!
