Adding a Sleeve to Your Quilt

Here is a video from our archives that is as helpful today as it was when Bonnie Browning first made it. Bonnie is our executive show director, an author, quilter, teacher, quilt judge, and lecturer (she does it all!).

Thousands of quilts have been sent to us for exhibit at our shows through the years and our hanging system has changed, too. In this video, Bonnie explains how to add a sleeve or rod pocket to your quilt for entry into an AQS quilt show. This method will work for just about any hanging system at just about any show. So grab your stuff and follow along with Bonnie.

I noticed that you don’t mention anything about sewing the bottom of the sleeve to the quilt. Was that missing? or is it not necessary as long as the sides of the sleeve are sewn down?
