Quilters kept asking Betty Alderman for more modern patterns, especially flowers, with large pieces that were easy to see and handle. Since  Betty’s  love of flowers equals her love of appliqué, she joyously tackled the challenge. The result is nearly three dozen beautiful appliqué blocks — circle, cross, and heart-shaped wreaths, and pretty little flower baskets....
